Early morning goat

Guess who had a sleepover. :) This little one isn’t doing poorly except that he’s got some rattling, wet cough, so I kept him in the house over night. Fun for him. I didn’t get much sleep. YES! He slept in bed. :) Now we are having our morning coffee.

Well pump and sabel palms

This blog post won’t make sense to anyone but my Acreage forum friends. :) oops sorry.
The big white  thing that you see is my aerator it holds hundreds of gallons of water that come up the well thru 3 misters (that need to be checked for clogs periodically) The aerator does need cleaning out periodically. A bit of an eyesore. But I have it blocked off by trellis.

All the trees shown were little sprouts when I first moved in. One really tall one was established but in 6 years time they have grown fast!

The little weed like bush is beauty berry. Something you want to keep and tend to. It attracts butterflies (as do the native lantana). And so do certain vines that grow naturally.

And then the little sprout of the sabel palm sticking up thru the dirt is the beginning. I just block them off so I don’t step on them. Or goats eat them.

SAND, Sand, and more sand!

This is my life! For the next uh, week? Longer? I have 2 truckloads more coming. I can’t take it anymore. The barn is slowly losing all its sand. Paddocks, stalls, and surrounding land is just sloughing away. Where the heck is it going? Neighbors pond most likely. One day its only going to be a puddle if I don’t figure out how to keep MY SAND in MY YARD!

Any Ideas?

Of course, post isn’t complete without a goat picture! Here is AMALIA, Delilah’s first born this year. She is going to stay here. She is 3 weeks old today! Prissy? Well she is just hanging out.

Cute photo of the day.

This is willow! And my two orphaned chicks living in the house at the moment. Willow is a Lion Head and until this photo was taken she didn’t want to have anything to do with me. But the chirping chicks got her attentions. And figured if they can sit on my lap like that, she could too.
